CEO - John Massie

John began his career in 1970 as a CPA in public accounting at Price Waterhouse.  After several years in public and private accounting, John made a career move into executive sale and management in technology companies including Xerox Computer Services, GBS Computer Services, and JMS Group.  He now has over 34 years of experience in the development, integration, distribution, and sales of software.  In 2006, John started emsCharts, Inc. as company President.


President - Peter Goutmann

Pete is the original architect, developer, and founder of the emsCharts suite of products.  Through his IT background, and experience as a trained Paramedic and Firefighter, he recognized the need for an easy to use, clinically based, web and field data collection system.  He has hands-on experience in supporting the design, development, customization and implementation of emsCharts. He has held positions as a paramedic, dispatcher, and flight medic with over 13 years of experience in urban, rural, and air medical settings.


Director of Sales - Greg Howard

Greg has worked in the EMS industry for 16 years, beginning in the field with a municipal service doing 12,000 calls in 3 stations. Greg has 8 years of experience teaching paramedic, EMT, ACLS, BTLS, and PALS courses, and 7 years experience as a National Registry site evaluator. Greg has been an Flight Paramedic for the last 8 years.  As the Director of Sales, Greg has brought on 1,900+ EMS agency customers ranging from small rural fire departments to county/governmental agencies doing 60,000+ calls/year.  He's performed project management for state contracts and coordinated high-level implementation processes for systems with large integrations.  Greg also lectures about emsCharts at local conferences and the annual emsCharts User Conference.


Director of Business Development - Lindsey Kelley

Lindsey has been with emsCharts, Inc. since 2004 where she has established many of the marketing, advertising, PR, and business proposal procedures. She currently holds the position of Director of Business Development, overseeing company marketing strategies for generation of new business.  Lindsey has a Master's of English/Professional Writing from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. She has been a certified EMT since 2005 and has an undergraduate degree in Biology.


Training Director - Linda Coene

Linda specializes in Software Training and Support and has been working in the Emergency Medical Services software industry since 1996. A Pittsburgh native, Linda is a certified teacher in the state of Pennsylvania for both secondary level Math and Science. Linda was drawn to emerging computer science studies during her graduate work in Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh in 1970, where she focused on both programming and application science. In 1978, she began her career as a computer consultant and trainer.


Assistant Training Director - Deborah McCoy-Freeman

Deb's experience in EMS education and program development spans over 20 years. Her clinical background includes critical care, trauma, emergency department nursing. Prior to joining emsCharts, Inc. she served as the EMS Education Specialist for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Prehospital Care Program for 9 years. She spent 7 years in northeast North Dakota developing and implementing a rural ALS intercept program encompassing the development of multi-level protocols, mutual aid and billing contracts, training and education for EMS providers and hospital staff. Deb also served as the Regional EMS Coordinator and Ambulance Training Officer for Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND. Originally from the Iowa/Illinois area, Deb has been an RN since 1979 and a paramedic since 1990, launching her EMS education experience in 1989 as an EMS Nurse Educator for Trinity Medical Center, EMS Department in Moline, IL.

 


Director of Software Development - Adam Mihlfried

Adam has been working as a Software Engineer at emsCharts, Inc. since July 2003, primarily as a web developer focusing on implementing state/regional requirements, NEMSIS compliance and data transfer. Most recently, he has held the role of lead developer for the emsCharts Mobile v3 project. In his current position, Adam is responsible for the planning, direction, and coordination of all activities associated with creating software across multiple functional areas and products. He plays a part in strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of emsCharts software products. Adam holds a BS degree in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.


Support Staff

emsCharts possesses great strength in their experienced programming and development staff. Having a full-time development staff in-house allows emsCharts to be responsive to customer needs, and capable of efficiently changing development priorities based on changing industry requirements.
